Miscarriage and Rainbow Babies

A “rainbow baby” is a baby that is born following a miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death or infant loss.In the real world, a beautiful and bright rainbow follows a storm and gives hope of things getting better. The rainbow is more appreciated having just experienced the storm in comparison.

The storm (pregnancy loss) has already happened and nothing can change that experience. Storm-clouds might still be overhead as the family continue to cope with the loss, but something colourful and bright has emerged from the darkness.

Look what has turned up at the studio! I did quite a bit of prop shopping before Christmas and now it's all turning up at my doorstep like belated Chrissy pressies!!

Every rainbow baby is very special to me and completely tug at my heartstrings because I have had my fair share of miscarriages and those babies are dearly missed in my life.

When a parent wants to incorporate their rainbow baby into their session with their new baby, I feel so much love and sorrow for the family's loss, and it's so beautiful to be able to come up with something creative and lovely to commemorate their lost baby.

These new props arrived from around the globe and are now ready for rainbow baby sessions in my Gold Coast studio!
